Students are provided with a wide variety of activities that contribute to their social, physical, emotional, and academic life. Mutual respect, good example and patience are fostered within the school. Through many activities, students reach out to service the wider community and help many who are in need, engendering a spirit of responsibility and generosity.
Among the student outreach projects are:
Socks for the homeless, Toys for Tots, Gifts for Birthright, donations to the Parish Food Cupboard, Cards for the Veterans, Trike-a-thons for St. Jude’s Hospital and Mission Collections.
Social events sponsored by the Home-School Association include dances, a Christmas Boutique, Father-Daughter Dance, and Field Days.
Realizing that our school family is made up of a diverse group of students, there are many different activities available to them outside of school. Students have the opportunity to become involved in CYO basketball, St. Paul’s Athletic League, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Brownies, Girl Scouts, Drama Club, school band, and art club. In addition, each class participates in one or two field trips each year to such places as a pumpkin farm, the zoo, Radio City Music Hall, or a Broadway play.
Field trips must serve an educational purpose and their value should be an integral part of the school’s instructional program. They broaden the students’ educational experiences. Field trips are privileges given to students; no student has an absolute right to a field trip.
